Cris having his hand raised after a fight while holding the Venezuelan flag

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Cris began competing in Taekwondo at a young age and earned his first-degree black belt at 18 under Fabio Leiva.

In 2010, at 19 years old, Cris moved permanently to the United States and joined a local martial arts academy, where he continued developing his skills and began competing in Kickboxing and Muay Thai. He went on to compile a 10–3 competitive record in Kickboxing and Muay Thai.

In 2016, Cris transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts under the guidance of Brian Spain, whom he considers one of the best coaches he has ever trained under. During his MMA journey, Cris earned a 5–3 record.

In 2020, Cris stepped away from fighting as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted competition and training. He continued training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and shifted his full focus toward developing his grappling game, dedicating his training exclusively to Jiu-Jitsu. He is currently a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Today, he brings years of competition and coaching experience to Ark Wave Mixed Martial Arts, helping students prepare for competition, develop practical self-defense skills, build confidence, and pursue their own goals both on and off the mats.
